Hannah (Print Only)

from $12.00

Painted during my third year at Susquehanna University, this large oil painting is from my Social String Series. This body of work uses string as a metaphor to explore the fragility of identity. Whether we are being bound, supported, restricted, or influenced, the fluid nature of who we consider ourselves to be can be visually explored through the imposition of thread on the human form.

"Hannah" explores the influence of external expectations on our identity, highlighting the tension between self-perception and others' views. Our sense of self becomes intertwined with how people communicate their perceptions of us, shaping our self-concept. This dynamic contributes significantly to our self-definition.

This piece can be seen in person at OMG Cannabis Co. in Portland, ME.
